Newcastle has one of the most distinctive event photography environments in the UK. The combination of Foster + Partners' Sage Gateshead, Antony Gormley's Angel of the North visible from the A1, the Victorian gothic of Newcastle University's Armstrong Building, and the industrial grandeur of Baltic gives the city an architectural range that few UK cities match.
I photograph events here that range from intimate academic dinners in the King's Hall to 600-person award galas in the Sage's main space. In each case the approach is consistent: thorough preparation, clean execution on the floor, and post-production that delivers images appropriate for press, digital communications, and archive use.
