Cambridge Graduation Photography
Cambridge graduation is unlike any other — the academic robes, ancient college architecture, Senate House ceremony, and the unmistakable energy of a day you've worked years to reach. It deserves photographs that capture the occasion with the gravity and joy it deserves.
I'm based in Cambridgeshire and photograph Cambridge graduations throughout the year — working quickly, knowing the locations intimately, and producing natural, beautiful portraits that document the day as it actually felt rather than how it was posed to look.
Where We Shoot
Senate House & Senate House Passage
The formal ceremony location — iconic for portraits on the steps and in the passage. I know the best angles and timing.
King's College / King's Parade
Cambridge's most recognisable frontage — essential for the classic graduation album.
The Backs
Riverside college views — the Mathematical Bridge, willow trees, and the Cam create extraordinary backdrop variety.
Your Own College Grounds
Most colleges allow photographs in their main court and gardens on degree day — I'll check the specific access arrangements for your college.
Cambridge Botanic Garden
A quieter alternative for families who prefer a garden setting away from the busy city-centre crowds.

The main summer graduation season (General Admission) runs across multiple days in late June. There is also a smaller January ceremony. Individual colleges may hold their own ceremonies at other times of year.
Both work well. Pre-ceremony (before 10am) gives you a calm, uncrowded session before the crowds build. Post-ceremony is more lively and joyful, with family around. Late afternoon (4–7pm) offers the best light. I recommend a combination if your schedule allows.
Yes — I'm familiar with access arrangements for most Cambridge colleges and the Senate House area. Some locations require advance permission; I can advise on this when you enquire.
Absolutely. Most graduation sessions include multiple family combinations — graduate with parents, with siblings, with grandparents, and full family groups. I coordinate these efficiently so you're not waiting around.
Cambridge's college interiors are beautiful even on grey days, and I know how to work with overcast light. Many of the covered walkways and college courtyards photograph wonderfully in any weather. I'll have a plan B ready.
Yes — I photograph graduations across Cambridgeshire, Ely, and surrounding areas. Contact me to discuss your specific location.
