Inverness & Scottish Highlands
Natural portraits at the Ness Islands, Loch Ness, and across the dramatic Highland landscape.
Inverness Portrait Sessions
Inverness stands at the meeting of the Great Glen, the Moray Firth, the Beauly Firth, and the open moors of Drummossie — a city surrounded by Highland landscape on every side. The Ness Islands are within five minutes of the city centre, Loch Ness begins at the city's southern edge, Culloden is four miles east, and the Black Isle begins across the Kessock Bridge. There is nowhere in the UK with a greater concentration of dramatic, natural portrait settings within easy reach of a city.
I offer individual, couple, and small group portrait sessions across Inverness and the Highlands — natural, thoughtful, and sensitively matched to this extraordinary landscape.

Locations
Ness Islands, Inverness
The beautiful river islands in the River Ness, connected by Victorian suspension bridges — tree-lined, quiet, and extraordinarily atmospheric for portraits in any season.
Inverness Castle Grounds
The red sandstone castle above the River Ness — closed for renovation but the surrounding grounds and the banks below provide excellent portrait positions.
Loch Ness Shore, Dores
The south bank of Loch Ness at Dores village — the greatest depth of freshwater in the British Isles stretching away into Highland mist, and a beach for relaxed, natural portraits.
Culloden Battlefield
The open moorland of Drummossie Moor — the National Trust for Scotland site where the 1746 battle ended the Jacobite Rising. Historically resonant, wild, and extraordinary.
The Black Isle, Cromarty
The peninsula north of Inverness — the Cromarty Firth, Chanonry Point (dolphin-watching), and the historic burgh of Cromarty itself provide coastal Highland portrait settings.
Beauly Firth & Inverness Bay
The tidal estuary west of Inverness — wide skies, sandbanks, and the Highland mountains rising in every direction. Atmospheric golden-hour and blue-hour portrait sessions.
