Cambridge · on location
On-location dog photography across Cambridge's parks, hills, and riverside paths — portraits that capture the personality, energy, and joy of your dog.
The approach
The best dog photographs aren't taken when a dog is sitting to attention. They happen mid-run, mid-shake, or in that moment before they bolt after a squirrel. I work with your dog's natural behaviour — following them, reading their energy, and capturing the moments that are completely, unmistakably them.
All sessions are on location across Cambridge — in the places your dog already loves. No studio backdrops, no flash, no stress.

Where we shoot
Gog Magog Hills
Open countryside, sweeping views, and room to run — perfect for energetic dogs and magical golden-hour light.
Wandlebury Country Park
Ancient woodland, chalk paths, and meadows. Lovely dappled light and varied terrain make for stunning forest portraits.
River Cam & Meadows
Reflections, wide open spaces, and a Cambridge backdrop. The Backs and Midsummer Common offer a classic setting for city-loving dogs.
Granchester Meadows
Wildflower meadows and riverside footpaths — a quiet, beautiful location that photographs beautifully in all seasons.
Your neighbourhood
Sometimes the best portraits happen on your regular walk. We can shoot in any Cambridge park or green space you love most.
Bring high-value treats
The stronger the smell, the better the focus! Cheese and cooked chicken work well for attention shots.
Wear comfortable shoes
Dog sessions involve movement — I follow where your dog goes, not the other way around.
Morning or evening light
I schedule all sessions during golden hour for the warmest, most flattering light.
Tired is great
A dog who has had a short play before the session is often calmer and more photogenic — but not exhausted.
What if my dog doesn't sit still?
Good news — most of the best dog portraits happen during movement. I photograph dogs as they naturally behave: running, sniffing, bounding. Still portraits are a bonus, not a requirement.
Can I be in the photos too?
Absolutely — and I encourage it. Human-dog portraits are some of my favourites. Starting with just the dog and adding you in later often yields the most natural results.
What's the best season for a dog session?
All of them, genuinely. Autumn gives golden leaves; spring brings bluebells and fresh greens; summer shoots work well in the early morning; winter fog and frost can be magical. Tell me your vision and we'll find the right time of year.
Do you photograph anxious or reactive dogs?
Yes, with some adjustments. We choose quieter times and locations, give plenty of space, and never rush. Let me know about your dog's temperament at booking so I can plan accordingly.
Tell me your dog's name, your favourite location, and when you'd like to shoot — I'll be in touch within 24 hours.
