Italy Elopement Photography — Tuscany, Amalfi Coast, Lake Como and Beyond
Italy elopement photography covers the full range of what makes Italy the world’s most popular destination for romantic and intimate wedding sessions: the terraced lemon gardens of the Amalfi Coast with the Mediterranean five hundred feet below, the cypress-lined lanes of the Tuscan Val d’Orcia at sunrise, the rose-coloured villages clinging to the cliffs of Cinque Terre, the lake reflections of Como and Maggiore, the flower-filled squares of Florence and Rome, and the theatrical hill towns of Umbria, Lazio and Campania. Italy is inexhaustible as a setting for love in photographs.
Yana Skakun Photography covers Italian elopements for British couples planning to marry or celebrate in Italy, with experience across Tuscany, the Amalfi Coast, the Cinque Terre, Rome, the Italian Lakes, Sicily and Puglia. Pre-trip planning includes specific location selection, timing for optimal light, practical advice on local permits and access, and help navigating the legal requirements for British nationals marrying in Italy.
Tuscany & Val d’Orcia
The Val d’Orcia in southern Tuscany — UNESCO World Heritage landscape of rolling golden hills, isolated farmhouses, lines of cypress and the occasional medieval hill town — is the most photographically acclaimed landscape in Europe. Sessions at sunrise, when the mist still fills the valleys between the hills and the first light is pink across the wheat fields, produce images unlike anything available anywhere else. Spring and early summer (April–June) are the peak season for Val d’Orcia photography.
The Amalfi Coast
The Amalfi Coast — a UNESCO-listed 50km stretch of vertical coastline between Sorrento and Salerno — offers the most dramatic scenery in Italy for elopement photography: cliffs falling hundreds of metres to turquoise water, terraced lemon and orange groves, pastel-coloured cliff-hanging villages, and the extraordinary boat-level views from the sea that give the coast its incomparable character. The best photography happens early morning and late afternoon when the tourist boats have gone.
