Glasgow is a city of enormous photographic variety. The West End — centred on Kelvingrove Park, the River Kelvin, and the Victorian sandstone streets of Hyndland and Dowanhill — is one of Britain's most photogenic urban neighbourhoods for family portraits. And 45 minutes to the north, Loch Lomond and the first peaks of the Highlands begin.
Pollok Country Park is the jewel of Glasgow's southern parks — 400 acres of working estate with free-roaming Highland cattle, ancient oak trees, the formal gardens of Pollok House, and miles of woodland paths. It has a completely different atmosphere to the manicured city parks: wilder, more spacious, more genuinely Scottish in character.
I photograph families with a relaxed, observational eye — following the children, noticing the real moments, making pictures that feel like your family in Glasgow, not like a studio session that could have been taken anywhere. Whether you want the urban character of Kelvingrove or the wilder edge of the Campsies and Loch Lomond, I can make it work.

Glasgow's parks are genuinely outstanding — particularly Pollok, which has over 400 acres of managed estate parkland with free-roaming Highland cattle and mature oak forests. Kelvingrove is smaller but has the dramatic museum building as a backdrop and the River Kelvin running through native woodland. The Botanic Gardens are beautiful for controlled, intimate portraits. And Loch Lomond is only 45 minutes away.
Yes — the Loch Lomond shoreline at Balloch and above Luss is accessible in 45-60 minutes from Glasgow and gives a completely different kind of family portrait. Mountain, water, and wild Highland landscape. I photograph there regularly and it is especially stunning in autumn and on clear spring days.
Yes — Kelvingrove, Pollok, and the Botanic Gardens are all fully accessible for pushchairs along the main paths. Pollok has some more uneven ground in the estate woodland which is manageable but slower. I always plan a route to match your family's ages and mobility.
Yes — I cover all of Greater Glasgow including Bearsden, Milngavie, Bishopbriggs, Newton Mearns, Clarkston, Rutherglen, and Hamilton. Sessions across Greater Glasgow are available with travel included within 30 miles of Glasgow city centre.
Autumn is exceptional in Glasgow — Pollok and Kelvingrove have remarkable colour from late October into November. Spring blossom in the Botanic Gardens is beautiful in April-May. Loch Lomond is most dramatic in September-October with autumn colour on Ben Lomond. Summer evenings give the best golden hour light in the west-facing parks.
