Cherry blossom in the parks. Magnolia on the terraces. The first warmth of the year — and the most joyful season to be married in London.
Check AvailabilityNo season transforms London quite like spring. The Royal Parks shift from winter austerity to clouds of pink and white blossom in the space of weeks. The magnolias of Notting Hill and Kensington bloom briefly and brilliantly. The daffodils arrive in their millions along avenues and riverbanks. The light — no longer the flat winter grey — develops warmth and colour that makes outdoor photography genuinely beautiful again.
Spring wedding photography in London has a particular quality that later seasons don't replicate. The blossom lasts only two or three weeks at peak — and if your wedding falls within that window, the photographs are unmistakeable. Even outside the blossom peak, March through May offers fresh greens, gentle light, and the energetic atmosphere of a city in full spring mood.
I cover spring weddings across London from intimate registry office ceremonies in Chelsea to large celebrations at Royal Parks licensed venues, Kew Gardens, and the city's great country house hotels.
St James's Park in March and April is one of London's most beautiful spectacles — cherry blossom lining the paths, daffodils beside the lake, and the Palace as a backdrop. One of the most photographed spring wedding locations in the capital.
The streets of Notting Hill and Holland Park in early spring are lined with magnolia trees in bloom — huge white and pink flowers against white stucco terraces. For urban spring portraits with a distinctly London feeling, these streets are extraordinary.
The Royal Botanic Gardens are spectacular in spring — Magnolia Walk, the Cherry Avenue, and thousands of daffodils and narcissus across the grounds. For a formal spring garden portrait, Kew in April has almost nothing to equal it.
Greenwich Park in spring has daffodils massed under the avenue of Spanish chestnuts, and the observatory hill provides a panoramic view of the skyline. Fresh, open, and beautifully English in its spring character.
The Avenue Gardens at Regent's Park in spring — formal beds coming into bloom, the scent of early roses, the Inner Circle. And in April, the cherry trees provide the pastel softness that makes spring portraits unmistakeable.
Battersea Park in spring is underrated as a wedding photography location — sub-tropical gardens, the pagoda beside the river, and a quality of light that the open south-facing riverside provides throughout the day.

London's cherry blossom is typically at its peak between late March and mid-April, depending on the year's temperatures. It can peak as early as mid-March in a warm year. I track blossom conditions closely and can advise as the season approaches — timing your portrait session at the peak of a specific avenue or tree is something I plan with couples well in advance.
Spring in London is changeable but often beautiful. March and April can be cold with showers; May is usually warmer and more settled. I photograph in all conditions. Light overcast — which is common in early spring — is actually wonderful for portraits: soft, even, no harsh shadows. Blossom in soft rain is one of the most beautiful things to photograph.
Yes, spring is popular — particularly April, May, and early June. Many venues get heavily booked 18 months ahead. I am often booked for spring Saturdays a year in advance. If you are planning a spring 2026 wedding in London, I recommend enquiring by summer 2025.
Yes. Many London streets, green squares, and churchyards have cherry trees and spring flowering. I scout portrait options near your venue and can identify blossom opportunities within walking distance. It doesn't require being in a Royal Park to have beautiful spring portraits.
Yes. I have worked alongside many of London's wedding videographers and am experienced at coordinating with video teams without compromising either medium. I am happy to share ceremony timing and logistics planning if you are working with a videographer.
Spring Saturdays — especially April and May — book well in advance. Tell me your date and venue and I will confirm within 24 hours.
