London Wedding Photography
Parks in full bloom. Golden evenings that last until 9pm. London at its most beautiful — and your wedding at the centre of it.
Check AvailabilityThe long days of an English summer transform London as a wedding photography location. Parks that are brown and windswept in winter become lush, green, and full of life in June and July. The golden hour, which barely grazes the afternoon in December, extends from 8pm onwards in midsummer — giving couples something extraordinarily rare: warm, soft, painterly light at the end of your reception.
London summer weddings also benefit from better outdoor ceremony weather, more light for documentary coverage inside venues, and the general energy of the city in its most vibrant season. The number of beautiful portrait locations available — Hyde Park, Kew, Hampstead, Greenwich, Richmond — makes London in summer one of the best places in England to be married.
I am based between Cambridge and London and cover summer weddings across the capital — from intimate ceremonies in Chelsea register offices to full-day celebrations at grand riverside venues and London country houses.
In summer, Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens offer some of London's most photogenic settings — the Long Water, the Italian Gardens, the tree-lined paths in full leaf. Especially beautiful in the low light of a summer evening.
The Heath in summer is wilder and more romantic than the formal parks — long grass, ancient trees, the ponds, and the extraordinary panoramic views of the London skyline from Parliament Hill. For couples who want something atmospheric rather than manicured.
The Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew in summer are extraordinary — the Great Pagoda walk, the Temperate House, the lake, and the formal gardens at peak bloom. Properly remarkable as a portrait location.
London's largest Royal Park offers open landscape, ancient oak trees, herds of deer, and no sense of being in a city at all. The Isabella Plantation in summer — azaleas past, but the woodland and ponds still beautiful — provides quiet and romantic portrait settings.
For couples wanting the London skyline as a backdrop — especially at golden hour when the light catches the city — Primrose Hill offers an unrivalled view and a beautiful park setting. Busy in the afternoon but quiet after 7pm in summer.
Greenwich offers the twin advantages of the Royal Observatory setting and views across the Thames. Summer evening light hitting the Canary Wharf skyline from Greenwich Hill is a London wedding photograph with no equal.

In summer, London's golden hour runs from around 8–9pm (June/July) — much later than most people expect. This means that even if your ceremony is in the afternoon and your reception starts in the evening, there is still beautiful warm light for outdoor portraits. I always coordinate portrait timing around the best light.
It depends on your aesthetic. Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens are formal and grand. Hampstead Heath is wild and romantic. Richmond Park feels expansive and open. Greenwich gives you the city skyline. I discuss your preferences at our planning meeting and advise on the best choice for your wedding day.
Yes. I cover the full range of London wedding venues — from Mayfair and Westminster through Hackney and Shoreditch to Kew, Richmond, and Hertfordshire on the outskirts. For venues more than 1 hour from central London, a travel fee applies, discussed transparently at booking.
London summers can be hot, particularly in July and August. I plan portrait sessions for the cooler parts of the day where possible — early morning or evening. Hyde Park and Hampstead Heath both have shade and water that make them more comfortable in heat. I always carry water for my couples.
Yes — I have worked with many London wedding venues and am happy to liaise directly. Venues sometimes have specific photography rules (no flash in the chapel, restricted areas) and I handle all of this as part of my service.
