Awards and publications in photography matter to the extent that they reflect independent peer review of work quality. Competition images are judged by fellow professionals — winning or placing in competitive categories provides external validation that a photographer's work genuinely meets a high standard.

I enter relevant competitions selectively and am pleased to have received recognition from national and international photography bodies. Publications in both trade and consumer media are listed below.
