Essex's coastline, ancient woodland, and river estuaries offer far more photographic variety than its reputation suggests. Mersea Island's distinctive coastal character, the ancient hornbeam woods of Epping Forest, the sailing estuary of Maldon, the reed-beds of the Blackwater Estuary, and the quiet farmland of north Essex around Dedham Vale all provide exceptional family session locations.
I travel across Essex for family photography. Epping Forest is particularly beautiful in spring (bluebell season) and autumn. The Essex coastline offers golden-hour estuary light quite unlike anything inland. Sessions suit all ages from newborns upward.

When is the best time to book a family session in +
Spring (April–May) and autumn (September–October) give the best light and colour. Summer golden-hour sessions (6–8pm) are especially beautiful. I recommend booking 6–8 weeks ahead to secure your preferred date.
What if my children won't cooperate?+
Completely normal — I work in a relaxed, child-led way. I don't direct children into poses; I follow their lead and photograph the real interactions. The best images often come from 'uncooperative' moments.
Which Essex location would you recommend?+
It depends on your family's personality and what kind of images you want. I'm happy to advise based on your preferences — contact me and we'll find the perfect spot.
Can we bring our dog?+
Absolutely — dogs are very welcome. They often add the best moments of the session. Just let me know in advance so I can plan the location to be dog-friendly.
How long until we receive our photos?+
Your private online gallery will be ready within 10 business days of the session. You'll receive a link to download all your images in full resolution.
