Natural · Beautiful · Timeless
Maternity photography documents one of the most significant periods of a family's life — a time that passes quickly and that most people have very few good images to remember. London offers extraordinary outdoor settings for pregnancy portraits: Richmond Park's ancient deer park, Hampstead Heath's wild landscape, and Holland Park's beautiful enclosed gardens all create images of real quality and timelessness.
My approach is natural and relaxed — I work with available light, movement, and genuine connection rather than formal poses. The result is portraits that feel honest and intimate rather than staged.

A moment that passes completely
Pregnancy lasts nine months — the specific shape, weight, and fullness of a bump at 34 weeks is entirely specific to that moment and will never return. Professional maternity photography is the documentation of something genuinely irreplaceable.
Natural light is extraordinary in London
London's late-afternoon light in spring and autumn — filtering through Richmond Park's ancient oaks, or low and golden across Hampstead Heath — is as beautiful as anything in the English countryside.
Whole family included
Maternity sessions are most powerful when they include partners and existing children. The interaction between siblings and bump, or a partner's expression in an unguarded moment, produces images of deeper emotional resonance than bump-only portraits.
Document, not perform
The best maternity images come from genuine relaxation — walking, talking, laughter. I document what happens rather than directing performances. The resulting images feel real because they are.
Locations
Richmond Park
Richmond Park is London's most beautiful outdoor portrait setting for maternity sessions — the ancient deer park, the ancient oaks, and the long grass meadows create a timeless, natural environment. Morning light in the park during late spring and early autumn is exceptional. The park is large enough that popular maternity portrait spots are never crowded, even on weekends.
Hampstead Heath
Hampstead Heath combines wild landscape, ancient trees, and sweeping views across London that feel entirely removed from the city below. Parliament Hill meadow, the woodland tracks near Kenwood, and the swimming ponds all provide beautiful maternity portrait settings for North London families.
Holland Park & Kensington
Holland Park's Japanese garden, woodland walks, and formal rose garden are among the most beautiful enclosed green spaces in central London. For maternity sessions that combine natural greenery with proximity to Kensington and Chelsea, Holland Park is the premier choice.
Home Sessions
Some of the most beautiful maternity photography I produce is in clients' homes — the familiar environment, natural window light, and the intimacy of documented ordinary life create images of real emotional depth. Home sessions in London are particularly suited to the Full Experience package, combining indoor and local outdoor locations.
Book the session around 30–36 weeks of pregnancy — when the bump is fully rounded but you are still comfortable and mobile. I recommend booking as soon as you know you want maternity photography, as London dates book 6–8 weeks ahead in popular spring and autumn seasons. Allow some scheduling flexibility to account for how you feel in the final weeks.
Flowing, fitted dresses photograph beautifully — particularly in neutral tones, cream, blush, and earth colours that work well in outdoor London settings. Avoid busy patterns. I have a small client wardrobe available for hire that includes several maternity-specific gowns. Comfort is the most important consideration — you should feel at ease rather than dressed up.
Yes — partners and existing children are welcome and often add the most memorable moments to a session. The Signature Session and Full Experience packages are designed for the whole family. Children under 5 often add genuine warmth and playfulness that is impossible to replicate in portraits of bump alone.
Richmond Park for space, ancient trees, and golden light. Hampstead Heath for a wilder, more romantic atmosphere. Holland Park for proximity to central London with beautiful enclosed gardens. Kew Gardens for extraordinary botanical variety (entry costs apply). I can advise on the best location given your London neighbourhood and the aesthetic you are looking for.
My approach is primarily natural light — studio or home settings using window light rather than artificial lighting. I find that natural light produces warmer, more timeless maternity images than studio setups. For home sessions, I assess the available light when I arrive and choose the best spaces in your home based on what the light is doing that day.
