Photographer Knutsford

Knutsford is perhaps the most photographically rewarding town in Cheshire — not only for the extraordinary resource of Tatton Park on its doorstep, but for the distinctive Italianate character of the Victorian town centre, the wooded sandstone vale and the beautiful Cheshire countryside extending in every direction. Knutsford is Elizabeth Gaskell's 'Cranford' — the model for her most celebrated novel — and that Victorian gentility and prosperity is still evident in the architecture and atmosphere of the town today.

Tatton Park gives Knutsford a portrait photography resource that very few English towns can match — over 1,000 acres of deer park, two large meres, a Japanese garden of international significance and the mansion estate. The deer park in early morning light, with the red deer silhouetted against the mere, is one of the most atmospheric portrait landscapes in the north of England. I photograph weddings, families, couples and individuals in Knutsford and across Cheshire — Wilmslow, Alderley Edge, Macclesfield, Chester, Northwich and Manchester. I travel across the north of England for weddings and portrait sessions.
