Marlow is one of England's most handsome Thames-side towns — a prosperous Buckinghamshire market town of Georgian houses, a famous 1832 suspension bridge, beautiful riverside meadows and the extraordinary ancient beech woodland of Quarry Wood climbing the Chiltern hillside immediately behind the town. The combination of the iconic suspension bridge, the riverside Higginson Park, Quarry Wood's ancient woodland character and the surrounding Chilterns AONB landscape makes Marlow an exceptional location for portrait and wedding photography throughout all four seasons.
Quarry Wood — said to be the model for Kenneth Grahame's Wild Wood in The Wind in the Willows — is particularly outstanding in spring (bluebell season in late April) and autumn (beech colour October–November). The Thames at Marlow is one of the finest stretches of the upper river, and the views from the suspension bridge toward All Saints Church and the weir create one of the most recognisable Thames scenes in England. I photograph weddings, families, couples and individuals in Marlow and across the Chilterns Thames Valley — Henley, Maidenhead, Cookham, Windsor and beyond.
