Natural wedding, family and portrait photography in Marlow and the Chilterns — outdoor sessions at the suspension bridge, in Quarry Wood and across the beautiful Thames Valley and Chilterns hills.
Book a SessionMarlow is one of England's most handsome Thames-side towns — a prosperous Buckinghamshire market town of Georgian houses, a famous 1832 suspension bridge, beautiful riverside meadows and the extraordinary ancient beech woodland of Quarry Wood climbing the Chiltern hillside immediately behind the town. The combination of the iconic suspension bridge, the riverside Higginson Park, Quarry Wood's ancient woodland character and the surrounding Chilterns AONB landscape makes Marlow an exceptional location for portrait and wedding photography throughout all four seasons.
Quarry Wood — said to be the model for Kenneth Grahame's Wild Wood in The Wind in the Willows — is particularly outstanding in spring (bluebell season in late April) and autumn (beech colour October–November). The Thames at Marlow is one of the finest stretches of the upper river, and the views from the suspension bridge toward All Saints Church and the weir create one of the most recognisable Thames scenes in England. I photograph weddings, families, couples and individuals in Marlow and across the Chilterns Thames Valley — Henley, Maidenhead, Cookham, Windsor and beyond.

The remarkable ancient beech and oak woodland climbing steeply above the Thames north of Marlow — the model for the Wild Wood in Kenneth Grahame's Wind in the Willows, with extraordinary bluebell carpets in spring and autumn colour in October.
The large public park at the edge of Marlow town centre with its riverside meadows, bandstand and long Thames views — a relaxed and accessible family portrait location with excellent natural light.
The famous Temple Island in the Thames at Henley — the neoclassical fishing temple at the start of the Henley Royal Regatta course — and the beautiful countryside of the Thames above Hambledon Lock.
The extraordinary beech woodland villages of the Chilterns AONB above Marlow — Hambleden village (one of England's most photographed), the Turville valley and the characterful Bucks flint-and-brick villages.
