Natural photography in Putney and South West London — family portraits along the Thames, engagement sessions on Putney Heath, weddings and portraits in Richmond Park.
South West London Photography
Putney sits at one of the most photographically rewarding junctions in London — where the River Thames, the open heathland of Putney Heath and Wimbledon Common, the extraordinary woodland of Richmond Park and the river valley character of Barnes all converge within a few kilometres of each other. It is a neighbourhood that attracts young families, professional couples and individuals who value the balance of urban convenience with genuine natural space.
I photograph families, couples and individuals across Putney and the surrounding South West London riverscape for portrait sessions, engagement photography, wedding coverage and personal photography. The Thames towpath between Putney Bridge and Hammersmith Bridge is one of London's finest portrait corridors — the wide river, historic boat clubs (Putney hosts the Boat Race finish and is home to over 20 rowing clubs), weeping willows and the gentle curve of the river towards Barnes create a genuinely beautiful natural photography environment.
Richmond Park, accessible from Putney via Roehampton in 15 minutes, is one of the UK's finest year-round photography locations. The ancient oaks have been growing since the park was enclosed by Charles I in 1637 — some are over 700 years old — and the wild fallow and red deer herds create wildlife photography opportunities of extraordinary quality alongside family and couples portrait sessions. October is the peak season: the bracken turns copper-orange, the stags roar during the rut, and the light through the ancient oaks in late afternoon is quite simply exceptional.
I cover Putney, Wandsworth, Roehampton, Barnes, Wimbledon, Fulham, Hammersmith, Chiswick and the wider South West London area for photography sessions of all types. I also travel nationally and internationally for weddings and larger commissions.

Locations
The riverside towpath north from Putney Bridge is one of London's finest photography locations — the wide river, historic boathouses, weeping willows and the Hammersmith Bridge as backdrop create extraordinary variety.
The connecting heathland stretching from Putney Heath south into Wimbledon Common — ancient oaks, open grassland, birch woodland and the windmill on Wimbledon Common create a genuinely natural landscape within 30 minutes of central London.
The 2,360-acre Royal Park just south of Putney — wild deer, ancient oaks, the Isabella Plantation and extraordinary vistas across the Thames Valley. One of the UK's finest year-round photography locations, particularly in October when the bracken turns orange.
The Victorian bridge and its All Saints Church setting above the river — particularly photogenic in late afternoon light, with the rowing club boathouses and the wide Thames providing architectural and natural contrast.
The wetland nature reserve and common land at Barnes — wild bird reserve, old orchard, historic playing fields and the winding Barnes Cut. A quieter, more naturalistic setting than the busy Putney riverside.
The village character of early Putney — historic pubs, Victorian terraces and the older residential streets retain a village atmosphere that provides authentic, characterful portrait backgrounds.
