Southport is Lancashire's premier seaside resort — a stately Victorian and Edwardian town of wide boulevards, elegant hotels and a beautiful natural coast. The Sefton Coast stretching south from Southport through Ainsdale to Formby is one of England's most spectacular coastal landscapes: vast sand dune systems, the National Trust's Formby pinewoods (home to red squirrels), and a beach extending for over 20 miles of the Irish Sea. For family and couple portrait photography, the combination of the pine forest at Formby and the wide sandy beaches is exceptional — beautiful light year-round, but particularly golden in summer evenings and winter.
I photograph families, couples, weddings and individuals across Southport and the Sefton Coast — Formby, Birkdale, Ainsdale, Ormskirk and the wider West Lancashire area. Formby Pinewoods is one of my favourite locations in the north of England for both family and couple portrait sessions. I travel across Lancashire, Merseyside and Greater Manchester for weddings and portrait sessions throughout the year.
