Brighton Portraits — Coast, Park & Downs

Brighton and Hove offer one of the most varied backdrops for portrait photographers in the South East. The exuberant Indo-Saracenic architecture of the Royal Pavilion provides an exotic and unmistakably Brighton backdrop. Preston Park — the largest park in the city — has a sunken rose garden and long avenues of plane trees perfect for dappled natural-light portraits. Walk 20 minutes uphill and you're on the South Downs, with sweeping chalk downland views over the English Channel.

The iconic seafront itself — especially at golden hour in the hazy late-afternoon light — works beautifully for contemporary individual and couple portraits. I travel to Brighton for portrait sessions, covering individuals, creative headshots, couples, and small families.
