Reading sits at the heart of the Thames Valley — one of England's most prosperous business corridors — and has excellent portrait locations: the formal Victorian Forbury Gardens (with their famous lion sculpture and ruined abbey walls), Prospect Park's wooded ridge and ornamental lake north of the town centre, and the Thames Path giving riverine portrait options from Reading Waterfront through to Sonning and Pangbourne. Within 20 minutes lie Windsor Great Park and the Chiltern Hills AONB.
