Swansea & the Gower Peninsula
Natural portraits at Rhossili, Three Cliffs Bay, Mumbles, and across Britain's first AONB.
Portrait Photography in Swansea
The Gower Peninsula — designated Britain's very first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1956 — stretches fourteen miles into the Bristol Channel west of Swansea, with a southern coast of limestone headlands, sea-carved arches, tidal estuaries, and some of the finest beaches in Western Europe. Rhossili Bay at golden hour is among the most beautiful portrait settings in the UK; Three Cliffs Bay's triple-arch limestone headland and reflecting tidal flat is immediately recognisable by anyone who's seen it.
I photograph on the Gower and across the Swansea area with a completely natural approach — following the light, the landscape, and the person in front of the camera. Sessions are unhurried and personal.

The Gower Peninsula — Britain's very first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty — is one of the UK's finest portrait photography destinations. Three Cliffs Bay, Rhossili at golden hour, and Oxwich Bay all give images of immediate visual impact. I usually recommend Rhossili for golden hour and Three Cliffs for daytime sessions.
Rhossili Bay faces due west — sunsets are frequently dramatic, and the light in the hour before sunset illuminates the beach and the iconic Worm's Head headland in warm gold. Spring and autumn give the best conditions.
Yes — I travel to Swansea and the Gower regularly. Travel is included in all session prices. I can also photograph on the Gower coast, Cardiff Bay, and across South Wales in a single trip.
Absolutely — beach and coastal portraits on the Gower are a speciality. Rhossili, Caswell, Three Cliffs, and Langland all offer different qualities of coastal light and landscape.
