Cambridgeshire County Coverage
Documentary barn wedding photography across the whole of Cambridgeshire — South Farm, Bassmead, Granary Estates and every village barn in between.
About Cambridgeshire Barn Weddings
Cambridgeshire is exceptionally well-served for barn and farm wedding venues. The county's rich agricultural heritage — centuries of mixed arable farming, country estates, and manor farms — has produced a remarkable collection of converted barn venues, each with its own character and landscape setting.
From the celebrated South Farm at Shingay-cum-Wendy (one of England's most awarded wedding venues) to the Grade II listed grandeur of Bassmead Manor Barns in St Neots, from the expansive Granary Estates parkland near Huntingdon to boutique farm venues in the Fens and the Cam valley — I cover the complete county from my Cambridge base with no additional travel costs.
The landscape itself is one of Cambridgeshire's great photographic assets: enormous open skies, long golden hours, and agricultural fields that offer couple portrait settings unlike anywhere else in England. A Cambridgeshire barn wedding in late summer, with the light dropping across harvested Fenland fields, is as beautiful as wedding photography gets.
Coverage
South Farm (Shingay-cum-Wendy), Childerley Hall Farm Barns (Dry Drayton), West Wratting Park, The Long Barn at Rectory Farm (Northstowe) — a strong concentration of high-quality barn venues in easy reach of Cambridge.
Granary Estates (Abbots Ripton), Hemingford Grey barns, Brampton village venues, Buckden venues — Huntingdonshire's gentle rolling countryside and large estates yield beautiful farm and barn settings.
Bassmead Manor Barns (St Neots) is one of the county's most photographed venues — a Grade II listed manor farmstead with moat, walled garden, and three converted barns.
Ely and the Fens offer distinctive barn venues against wide open skies and the dramatic flatness of Fen landscape. The big skies and unobstructed horizon create exceptional photographic light.
Peterborough area barn venues including venues on the Nene Valley and Whittlesey levels. The county boundary with Northamptonshire and Lincolnshire brings further barn venue options within easy range.
Several popular wedding barns sit just over the Cambridgeshire border — in Bedfordshire (Great Barford, Woburn), Hertfordshire, and South Lincolnshire — all within my travel range without a fee.

Why Choose Me
I am based in Cambridge, which means all Cambridgeshire barn venues are covered with no travel supplement. From the southern tip of the county at Royston to the Fenland north, nothing in Cambridgeshire incurs travel costs.
South Farm and Granary Estates are two of the county's — and England's — finest barn wedding venues. I have photographed at both multiple times and know their light, grounds, and best portrait positions intimately.
The county's flat agricultural landscape offers wide open skies, long golden hours, and vast fields ideal for wedding portraits. The combination of low evening sun and open farmland creates images that are hard to achieve elsewhere in England.
My photography is built around observation rather than direction. I capture what genuinely unfolds on your day — the real moments, the laughter, the quiet emotion — alongside the spectacular visual setting of your barn venue.
Many couples at barn venues prefer a no-flash or available-light-only approach. I can work entirely in available and natural light for ceremonies and indoor coverage where venues permit, using high-performance cameras that handle low light beautifully.
I arrive before guests to document the full styled venue — every barn décor detail, floral arrangement, centrepiece, and table setting — so your gallery tells the complete visual story of your Cambridgeshire barn wedding.
Yes — the whole county is within my Cambridge base coverage area at no travel cost. This includes South Cambridgeshire, Huntingdonshire, St Neots, East Cambridgeshire, Ely, Fenland, and venues near the county border in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.
South Farm at Shingay-cum-Wendy, Granary Estates near Abbots Ripton, and Bassmead Manor Barns in St Neots are among my most frequently covered venues. I also have experience at Rectory Farm (Northstowe), Childerley Hall Farm Barns, and a number of smaller farm and estate venues across the county.
Every season has its merits. Summer (June–August) offers the longest golden hours and open wheat fields; autumn (September–October) brings harvest colour and dramatic skies; spring offers blossom and green freshness; winter gives candlelit barn atmosphere with frost on the fields. I have covered Cambridgeshire barn weddings in all seasons.
Yes — an engagement or pre-wedding shoot at your barn venue (included in the Premium package) is a wonderful way to capture the space before the wedding day and to get comfortable in front of the camera in the environment you'll be married in.
I travel throughout England. For venues beyond 50 miles of Cambridge, travel is charged at £0.45/mile return. Accommodation is included in your day-rate for overnight requirements. There is no additional booking fee.
