My presence becomes invisible quite quickly because there's no staging, no asked-for poses, no interruption of the evening. The direction is minimal: perhaps to walk in a particular direction, to sit in a specific spot, to look at each other rather than the camera at a particular moment. But mostly, you just have your evening and I document it.

The resulting photographs look like your actual relationship. Not a performance of a relationship intended for the camera, but the specific, genuine quality of how these two people are together.
