Christening Photography FAQs

Will you be allowed to photograph during the baptism service?+

Most churches allow photography during christenings, but each has different rules — some only allow photography from specific positions, others ask for no flash. I'm experienced at working within church restrictions and will always check in advance.

How early in advance should we book?+

Christenings are often booked 4–8 weeks ahead, but I'd recommend enquiring as soon as your church date is confirmed during popular months (April–September). I can often accommodate shorter notice in quieter periods.

Do you photograph christenings outside Cambridge?+

Yes — I cover all of Cambridgeshire including Ely, Peterborough, Huntingdon, St Neots, and surrounding areas. For events further afield, a small travel supplement applies.

Can you also photograph the reception or family lunch afterwards?+

Yes — the Full Christening Day package includes the ceremony plus reception coverage. This is the most popular option for families who want everything captured, from the morning preparations through to the celebration.

What if the baby is unsettled during portraits?+

This is completely normal and I plan for it. I take the portraits gently and in stages — no pressure on the baby to perform. Often the best images come from the naturally unguarded moments between poses.

Do you provide printed photos or albums?+

Professional print products — framed prints, canvas wraps, and lay-flat photobooks — are available as add-ons. These make wonderful gifts for grandparents. Ask for the products brochure when you enquire.
