Leicester & Leicestershire
Natural family sessions across Leicestershire — Bradgate Park, Abbey Park, and the Charnwood Forest.
Leicester Family Photography
Leicestershire offers some of the finest outdoor photography settings in England, with Bradgate Park standing apart as something truly special — 850 acres of ancient heathland, red deer, medieval ruins, and the most stunning autumn bracken you will find anywhere in the Midlands.
I work in a relaxed, unhurried way — following your family's natural pace through the landscape, capturing the real moments rather than choreographed arrangements. Every session is different because every family is different.

Locations
Bradgate Park
Leicestershire's most beloved landscape — ancient red deer in rolling heathland, the ruins of Lady Jane Grey's birthplace, open hillside views, and stunning autumn bracken. Truly exceptional for family portraits in any season.
Abbey Park
Leicester's most popular park, beautifully situated alongside the River Soar — formal gardens, open green space, and the River Soar reflecting autumn colour in the golden hour.
Watermead Country Park
Open lakes and wetland north of Leicester — peaceful, spacious, and beautiful for families who enjoy a relaxed waterside walk with the camera.
Beacon Hill Country Park
Wildflower-covered hill with exposed granite outcrops and far-reaching views over Charnwood Forest — a dramatic, unusual backdrop that gives family images a real sense of place.
Swithland Wood
An ancient woodland in Charnwood Forest — bluebells in spring, rich golden light through the canopy in autumn. Atmospheric and beautiful at any time of year.
Victoria Park, Leicester
The open green expanse of Victoria Park — central, accessible, and beautiful in golden light. A great option for families looking for a quick, beautiful session without driving out of the city.
Yes — Bradgate Park is outstanding for family photography. The combination of open heathland, ancient oak woodland, ruins, and wild deer creates something genuinely special. It works in every season, with autumn particularly breathtaking. I photograph here regularly.
Yes — I cover Leicester city, Loughborough, Hinckley, Melton Mowbray, Market Harborough, Oadby, Wigston, and the wider county. A small travel supplement applies for locations beyond 30 miles from base.
The deer at Bradgate are wild but very accustomed to visitors. We don't approach them — rather, we work our session around their natural grazing areas and the landscape, and often they wander into frame beautifully on their own.
Bradgate Park and Beacon Hill are stunning in autumn (September–October) and spring (April–May). Summer evenings offer the best golden light. Swithland Wood is exceptional for bluebells in late April.
Dogs are welcome at Bradgate Park (on leads) and most other locations. Please let me know when booking so I can factor them in to the planning.
