Natural family sessions in Nottingham — Wollaton Park, Sherwood Forest, and beyond.
Nottingham Family Photography
Nottingham has a remarkable variety of outdoor photography settings within easy reach — Wollaton Park's Elizabethan hall and deer-filled grounds, the ancient oak woodland of Sherwood Forest, the wetland calm of Attenborough, and the landscaped grandeur of Clumber Park. It is, all things considered, an exceptional city for outdoor family portraits.
I work in a relaxed, documentary way — walking with your family, following their lead, and capturing the moments that happen naturally. No forced poses, no uncomfortable instructions. Just your family, being themselves, in a beautiful setting.

Locations
Wollaton Park
Nottingham's most iconic family photography location — the grand Elizabethan hall, deer herds, formal gardens, and the lake combine for stunning variety in one beautiful space.
Sherwood Forest
Ancient oak woodland with a legendary atmosphere — the Major Oak, dappled forest light, and acres of wild green space make this one of England's most atmospheric outdoor portraits settings.
Attenborough Nature Reserve
Peaceful wetland and open grassland south-west of the city — excellent for calm, nature-immersed sessions with beautiful water reflections.
Highfields Park
The lake and boathouse at Highfields create an elegant city-park backdrop, and the park is large enough for a relaxed, wandering session.
Colwick Country Park
Open parkland and a large lake on Nottingham's eastern edge — particularly beautiful in the golden light of autumn.
Clumber Park (National Trust)
Magnificent estate parkland near Worksop — the long avenue of lime trees, chapel, and lake are outstanding for family portraits with grandeur and natural beauty.
Wollaton Park is consistently the most popular — the varied backdrops (hall, deer, lake, gardens) allow us to move through different settings in one session. Sherwood Forest is magical for families who love woodland. I'm happy to help you choose.
Yes — I cover Beeston, West Bridgford, Arnold, Carlton, Mapperley, Hucknall, Mansfield, and the wider Nottinghamshire area. A small travel supplement applies for locations beyond 30 miles from base.
The deer herd at Wollaton is a wonderful bonus — not guaranteed to be in ideal proximity for every session, but when they are, the images are exceptional. I time sessions for the most likely deer encounter windows where possible.
Autumn (September–October) for rich golden tones; spring (April–May) for fresh greens and blossom at Wollaton; summer evenings (golden hour 7–9pm) for the warmest light. Sherwood Forest works beautifully year-round.
Absolutely — dogs are welcome at all outdoor locations listed above. Dogs usually add great energy to a session. Please let me know when booking.
