Telford sits at the heart of some of the most historically significant and naturally beautiful countryside in the English Midlands. Ironbridge Gorge — the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution and a UNESCO World Heritage Site — gives family photography a backdrop unlike anywhere else in the country. The Iron Bridge itself, the wooded gorge, and the Severn below are extraordinary. Attingham Park's deer park and the open summit of The Wrekin offer completely different but equally striking settings.
I work across Telford and wider Shropshire to create outdoor family portraits that feel genuinely rooted in the distinctive landscape around you — whether that's the riverside wildflowers below Ironbridge, the parkland trees of Attingham, or the bluebell woodland of Benthall Edge in spring. Relaxed, natural, and always focused on real connection.

Spring at Benthall Edge and the gorge woodland is extraordinary — bluebells carpet the hillside from late April to mid-May. Attingham Park in early morning spring or autumn light with the deer in the parkland is magical. Summer gives long evenings at The Wrekin summit. Autumn turns the Ironbridge Gorge woodland gold and copper. Winter mornings bring river mist in the gorge that creates a very special atmosphere.
Yes — the Ironbridge town itself is on flat ground right beside the river, and the Iron Bridge is accessible for all ages. The Telford Town Park has easy flat paths and open meadows. Attingham Park is flat throughout. The Wrekin summit involves a longer climb and suits school-age children and older. I'll suggest the most appropriate locations for your children's ages.
I cover Telford and the wider Shropshire area: Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth, Much Wenlock, Newport, Wellington, Shifnal, and the Shropshire Hills. I also cover the Staffordshire border, Wolverhampton, and Stafford. Travel within 25 miles of Telford is included.
Neutral tones and earth colours (navy, cream, stone, soft green) complement the Shropshire landscape beautifully. The gorge woodland responds well to darker, richer autumn colours. Comfortable walking shoes or boots for the gorge paths and Wrekin are a good idea. I send a full style guide when you book.
