Family Photography in Yorkshire
Yorkshire is England's largest county and one of its most visually diverse — offering dramatic moorland, limestone dales, ancient cities, wooded valleys, and a wild North Sea coast all within a single county. It provides an almost unlimited range of settings for family photography, whether you're looking for rugged adventure, city heritage, or quiet woodland charm.
I photograph Yorkshire families in a completely natural way — no forced poses, no uncomfortable arrangements. I follow the family's lead: the running, the exploring, the hugs, the games. The best images always come from what's real.
Sessions are available across all of Yorkshire — from York and the Dales to Leeds, Harrogate, Whitby, the Moors, and the East Yorkshire coast.

Locations
A hidden waterfall in old-growth woodland — magical light and a truly unique setting for family portraits.
Historic stonework, ancient walls, and public gardens right in the city — beautiful and endlessly varied.
A limestone amphitheatre unlike anywhere else in England — unforgettable for active families.
One of the largest city parks in Europe — lakes, woodland, and open meadows perfect for relaxed sessions.
A wooded valley with a tumbling stream near Hebden Bridge — atmospheric in every season.
Dramatic chalk cliffs above the North Sea — stunning coastal light and wild open scenery.
Yes — I cover North, West, East, and South Yorkshire. From York and the Dales to Leeds, Harrogate, Whitby, Scarborough, and Sheffield. Travel within Yorkshire is included.
Late spring (May–June) for fresh green Dales and woodland shots, and September–October for rich autumn colours in Hardcastle Crags and the Moors. The summer golden hour at coastal locations is also beautiful.
Absolutely — the moors in heather season (late August–September) are extraordinary. I recommend arriving early morning to catch the mist and avoid other visitors.
Yorkshire weather is part of the character. Moody overcast skies often produce softer, more flattering light than harsh sun. We'll discuss a contingency plan during booking, but rarely need it.
Your private gallery will be ready within 10 business days of your session, with full-resolution downloads included.
