Cambridge has a remarkable range of independent restaurants, cafes, food producers and hospitality businesses — from the bustling market square traders to Michelin-recognised dining rooms, from artisan bakeries on Mill Road to riverside brunch spots along the Cam. All of them share the same challenge: making food look as good in a photograph as it tastes in person.
Food photography requires specific technical skills — careful lighting to capture texture without blown highlights, precise timing for steam and freshness, styling instincts to make real dishes look appetising rather than artificial. I have photographed menus, brand campaigns, event catering and food products across Cambridge and Cambridgeshire, and I understand both the creative craft and the practical constraints of food business photography.
The images I produce are calibrated for the platforms Cambridge food businesses use: Instagram, restaurant websites, Deliveroo and Uber Eats listings, Google Business pages, printed menus, and food PR press packs. Each context has different requirements, and a good food photography session addresses all of them in a single day.
Comprehensive menu photography for Cambridge restaurants — hero dish shots, full menu coverage and interior atmosphere images that work across printed menus, websites and platforms like OpenTable and Google Business.
Coffee shop and bakery photography capturing the tactile warmth of freshly baked goods, handmade drinks and café atmosphere. Content designed for Instagram, website headers and seasonal campaign graphics.
Campaign-quality food photography for packaged food and drink brands — for supermarket pitches, direct-to-consumer websites, press packs and brand social media. Lifestyle and studio environments available.
Recipe photography for food bloggers, cookbook proposals and editorial commissions — styled, naturally lit and photographed to the standards required for magazine and online publication.
Catering company portfolio photography, private chef services and event food documentation — beautiful images that communicate the quality of your food and service to potential corporate and private clients.
Hotel restaurant photography, afternoon tea coverage and hospitality venue content for Cambridge's growing tourism and hospitality sector — exterior, dining room, dish and service photography in a single shoot.

Both options are available. On-location restaurant photography captures the authentic atmosphere of your dining room alongside the dishes. Studio-based food photography gives maximum control over lighting and styling for brand-quality results.
You can have your own chef or food stylist work with me, or I can handle straightforward food styling for many dish types. For complex campaign work, I recommend engaging a specialist food stylist — I can recommend reliable collaborators.
A full-day restaurant session typically covers 20–30 dishes with multiple angles and setups per dish. A half-day (3–4 hours) will cover 8–12 dishes. Café content sessions are more flexible depending on the volume and variety of items.
Yes — all packages include licences for use on delivery platforms, Google Business, social media and your restaurant website. The delivery platform image specifications (clear backgrounds, square crops) are accommodated as part of every menu session.
Yes — Cambridge Market Square, Mill Road Winter Fair, Cambridge Festival and other food market events can be documented both as commercial editorial photography and as marketing content for individual food traders.
