Intimate Wedding Photography
Photography for intimate weddings of 2 to 30 guests. Honest pricing. Genuine documentary coverage.
Enquire NowWith fewer guests, every moment is more concentrated and more photographable. The laugh during the speech lands harder. The first dance is more intimate. Documentary photography of a small wedding captures an emotional density that is harder to achieve at a large event.
Micro weddings can happen almost anywhere — a private house, a restaurant, a country barn, a city register office followed by a great dinner. The flexibility of the format gives you and the photographer more creative latitude than a fixed-format large wedding.
A large wedding photographic budget is partly spent covering the mechanics of the day — guests arriving, seating, group shots. A micro wedding budget is almost entirely spent on the people and moments that actually matter to you.
With no 200-guest schedule to stick to, a micro wedding allows genuinely unhurried couple portraits. No coordinator pulling you away after ten minutes. An hour at golden hour if you want it. The portraits at a micro wedding are typically the best I take.
Every face in a micro wedding gallery is someone genuinely important to you. The images are consequently more meaningful than those from a large wedding where background faces may be people you barely know.
Micro weddings remove the obligation to manage a large event while simultaneously trying to enjoy it. Documentary photography of a relaxed, present couple produces radically different images from photography of a couple in event-management mode.

Full-day coverage for slightly larger intimate weddings — the personality of a small wedding with the full visual story of a longer day.
A micro wedding is generally defined as a ceremony with 30 or fewer guests. Within this, there is a spectrum — from 2-person elopements (covered by the elopement packages) through 5-15 guest intimate ceremonies to 20-30 guest affairs that are a small wedding in all but name. The packages above are designed to match the right level of coverage to each size.
Yes — micro weddings can include full legally binding ceremonies at licensed venues, vow renewals, symbolic ceremonies, or religious ceremonies with a small guest list. The format of the ceremony doesn't change the photography approach; the size of the guest list and the day structure determines which package fits.
Yes — private house weddings are increasingly popular and often very beautiful environments to photograph in. Natural light through house windows, familiar surroundings, and the relaxed atmosphere of a private home all produce excellent documentary photography. Legally, ceremonies at private homes need to be followed by a separate legal ceremony at a licensed venue.
Elopement packages are designed for 1-4 people (primarily the couple plus witnesses). Micro wedding packages are designed for 5-30 guests, and the photography structure reflects the presence of a small guest group — candid group dynamics, family moments, and the social reality of a small celebration.
I cover micro weddings across England — Cambridge and Cambridgeshire, London, the Cotswolds, the Chilterns, Norfolk and Suffolk, and further afield by arrangement. Travel within Cambridgeshire is included; I quote transparently for longer distances.
