When should I book a newborn session in Bournemouth?+
Book at 28–32 weeks of pregnancy. The newborn session itself happens in the first two weeks of life — this is when babies sleep most deeply and look most 'newborn'. Bournemouth is a busy area and sessions book up fast in summer months, so early booking is especially important if you're due May through September.
Do Bournemouth homes work for in-home newborn photography?+
Beautifully. Victorian and Edwardian properties in Boscombe, Pokesdown, Winton, and Charminster typically have large bay windows, high ceilings, and excellent natural window light. 1930s semis in Talbot Woods and Meyrick Park area have wide south or west-facing windows. Even smaller, newer-build properties on the town's outskirts have workable natural light. I assess each home when I arrive and find the best light for your space.
How far around Bournemouth do you travel for newborn sessions?+
I cover Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch, Ringwood, Wimborne Minster, Ferndown, Verwood, and the New Forest fringe east to Southampton. I'll confirm any travel fee for sessions beyond 20 miles when you enquire.
Can we incorporate the beach into a newborn session?+
In the first two weeks of life, I'd recommend keeping sessions indoors — newborns need warm, consistent environments and the beach is weather-dependent and logistically challenging. However, if you'd like a couple of outdoor images once your baby is 6–8 weeks old, I'd be delighted to do a follow-up session on Bournemouth or Sandbanks beach for a wonderful set of year-one contrast shots.
