Natural In-Home Lifestyle Newborn Photography
Leeds has extraordinary domestic light. The Victorian and Edwardian terraces of Headingley, Hyde Park, Chapel Allerton, and Roundhay were built with high ceilings, wide bay windows, and generous rooms that fill with soft northern daylight — exactly the kind of interior that makes newborn lifestyle photography sing. Whether your home is a converted Victorian back-to-back, a broad Edwardian semi in Kirkstall, or a modern apartment on the south bank, I work with whatever light your space offers.
In-home lifestyle sessions are about documenting real life in these completely unrepeatable first days. The smell of a sleeping baby, the way your toddler holds the new baby's hand, the afternoon light through original sash windows — these are the details that matter.
Leeds has some of the finest Victorian and Edwardian terrace streets in the North — Headingley, Hyde Park, Kirkstall, and the leafy Roundhay and Chapel Allerton suburbs. Bay windows, high ceilings, and original sash windows give beautiful natural light for newborn photography.
I document your family as it truly is in these first days — feeding, sleeping, skin-to-skin, brothers and sisters meeting the baby. Real moments, real light, your real home.
Sessions take as long as needed. There is no rush. Feeds, nappy changes, and settling time are all built in. The aim is images that feel quietly extraordinary, not staged.

Turnaround
I cover all of Leeds and the wider West Yorkshire area — Headingley, Roundhay, Chapel Allerton, Horsforth, Moortown, Shadwell, Wetherby, Harrogate, Wakefield, Bradford, Pudsey, Morley, Rothwell, and Garforth. Travel within 20 miles of central Leeds is included.
I recommend booking during your second trimester — around 20–25 weeks. Newborn lifestyle sessions can work beautifully up to around 6 weeks old, when babies are still curly and sleepy, but the most photographically rich period is the first two weeks of life.
Warm the house slightly (newborns settle much better when comfortable), have milk ready, and try not to stress. No tidying required — I naturally frame around lived-in clutter to show what actually matters. You do not need props, outfits, or wraps unless you want them.
Absolutely. Sibling portraits and couple portraits with the new baby are among the most treasured images families order as prints. I give older children space to just be themselves rather than asking them to pose.
