Lifestyle newborn photography captures the first two weeks of your baby's life as they actually are — the quiet of early mornings, the warmth of your bedroom, the gentle chaos of a new family coming together. In Manchester's diverse housing, from red-brick Edwardian terraces in Didsbury to modern apartments in Ancoats, I work with the natural light your home provides.
There is no studio, no posing, no props. Just your baby, your family, and the particular quality of light in the place where your baby's life is beginning.

Greater Manchester has an extraordinary variety of domestic architecture — Victorian terraces in Didsbury, 1930s semis in Sale, new-build apartments in the city centre. Almost every home has at least one beautiful light source, and these sessions use whatever your home offers most naturally.
Purely documentary
No posing babies in props. No studio sets. These sessions document your family in its actual home during the first two weeks — baby sleeping, feeding, being held, being met by siblings and grandparents for the first time.

Reserve your provisional date from around 20 weeks. The ideal session window is 5–14 days after birth — we confirm the exact date once your baby arrives and adapt as needed.

Which Manchester areas do you cover?+
I photograph throughout Greater Manchester — Didsbury, Chorlton, Salford, Stretford, Sale, Altrincham, Stockport, Cheadle, Bramhall, Wilmslow, and the city centre. A travel supplement may apply for locations beyond 30 miles from Cambridge.
What is the ideal age for a newborn lifestyle session?+
5–14 days after birth. At this age babies sleep deeply, are still in the curled position of the womb, and the intimacy of the first days is fully present. After three to four weeks the newborn quality begins to change noticeably.
Do I need a large or styled home?+
Not at all. Most Manchester homes — whether a Victorian terrace in Chorlton or a contemporary apartment near the Northern Quarter — have at least one beautiful window. The photographs are about your family, not the interior.
Can we include siblings and grandparents?+
Please do — the more family present, the richer the session. Toddler reactions to a new sibling, grandparents holding the baby for the first time — these are as precious as the baby portraits themselves.
Are you local to Manchester?+
I'm based in Cambridge and travel to Manchester regularly. Travel is included in the session price for Greater Manchester locations.
