Lifestyle newborn photography across Yorkshire — the first days in your home, captured in natural light.
Yorkshire Newborn Photography
Yorkshire is home to some of England's most beautiful domestic architecture — the Georgian spa towns of Harrogate, the sprawling Victorian suburbs of Leeds and Bradford, the medieval streets and Georgian terraces of York, and the stone-built farmhouses and cottages of the Dales and Moors. Each creates its own distinctive quality of natural light for newborn photography.
These sessions are entirely home-based, unhurried, and documentary. I photograph what is actually happening: your baby, your family, in your home, in the first extraordinary days of a new life.
The Approach
Yorkshire stone and light
Yorkshire's varied domestic architecture — Georgian townhouses in Harrogate, stone-built terraces in Leeds and Bradford, rural farmhouses in the Dales — creates a distinctive and beautiful quality of light for newborn photography. I work with whatever your home provides most naturally.
No studio, no props
Sessions happen in your home, using natural light. No posing, no fabric-wrapped poses. The session documents the actual first days — baby sleeping on your chest, siblings meeting for the first time, the quiet early-morning scenes that make up the first week.
Plan ahead from pregnancy
Reserve a provisional date from around 20 weeks. The ideal session window is 5–14 days after birth — we confirm dates once your baby arrives and adapt flexibly.

I cover all of Yorkshire — Leeds, Sheffield, York, Bradford, Huddersfield, Halifax, Wakefield, Rotherham, Harrogate, Ripon, Skipton, and the surrounding villages and market towns. Rural areas in the Dales and North Yorkshire Moors are covered with a modest travel supplement.
5–14 days. At this age babies sleep deeply, have the curled newborn shape, and the absolute first-days quality is fully present. After three weeks this begins to shift noticeably.
Almost every Yorkshire home has at least one well-lit room. Victorian and Edwardian terraces common across West Yorkshire often have excellent north or east-facing bedroom light. We identify the best spots during a brief pre-session conversation.
Yes — rural North and West Yorkshire properties are often particularly beautiful for newborn photography. Stone walls, low-beamed ceilings, and farm window light create very distinctive and beautiful imagery.
I'm based in Cambridge and travel to Yorkshire regularly. Travel is typically included in Yorkshire session prices.
