Natural wedding, family and portrait photography in Sheringham — outdoor sessions on the beach, in Sheringham Park and along the stunning North Norfolk Coast AONB.
Book a SessionSheringham is one of the North Norfolk Coast's finest seaside towns — a traditional fishing and seaside resort set beneath the cliffs with a long sandy beach, a handsome Victorian centre and remarkable access to the surrounding North Norfolk Coast AONB. Immediately behind the town, the National Trust's Sheringham Park (the Humphry Repton-designed landscape park famous for its rhododendrons) provides a spectacular woodland portrait setting. Above the beach, Beeston Bump — the highest point on the Norfolk coast — gives panoramic views in both directions along the shore.
The light on the North Norfolk Coast is special: the great skies, the low angle of the sun above the flat landscape and the reflective quality of the wide sandy beaches create extraordinary portrait opportunities throughout the year — particularly at sunrise and in the golden hour before sunset. I photograph families, couples, weddings and elopements in Sheringham and across the North Norfolk Coast — Cromer, Holt, Blakeney, Wells-next-the-Sea and the broader Norfolk area. I travel across the east of England for weddings and portrait sessions throughout the year.
Documentary wedding coverage for Sheringham and the North Norfolk Coast — Sheringham Park (NT) for outdoor ceremonies, Sheringham Little Theatre, the North Norfolk Railway and the beautiful Norfolk country house venues of Cromer and Aylsham.
Natural outdoor family sessions on Sheringham's long sandy beach, in the spectacular rhododendron gardens of Sheringham Park, on Beeston Bump (the highest point on the Norfolk coast) and along the coastal heath above the cliffs.
Engagement sessions at the golden-hour beach, in the NT rhododendron woods at Sheringham Park (spectacular in late May and June), on the clifftops between Sheringham and Cromer and at the photogenic Weybourne Hope shingle beach.
Intimate elopement photography for two on the North Norfolk Coast — beach ceremonies at sunrise, woodland handfastings in Sheringham Park and clifftop wildflower ceremonies with the North Sea as backdrop. One of England's most atmospheric elopement settings.
Individual portrait sessions on the beach, in the Sheringham Park winter gardens and rhododendron woodland, on Beeston Bump and across the beautiful North Norfolk Heath and coast — an extraordinary range of natural settings within walking distance.
In-home lifestyle newborn sessions in Sheringham, Cromer, Holt, Blakeney and across the North Norfolk Coast villages.
The long sandy beach and traditional seaside promenade at Sheringham — the fishing boats hauled up on the beach, the colourful beach huts, the sea wall and the wide sandy arc create a rich variety of seaside portrait settings in all lights and seasons.
The extraordinary Repton landscape park above the town — Humphry Repton's design, with the great gazebo viewpoint to the sea, covers 770 acres and is justly famous for its collection of rhododendrons and azaleas flowering in late May and June.
The highest point on the Norfolk Coast — the distinctive Beeston Bump (about 63m) rises above the beach with views along the coast in both directions. The surrounding coastal heath is carpeted with heather in August and gorse in spring.
The shingle beach and dramatic low cliffs at Weybourne three miles west — the distinctive iron-grey flint beach (the deepest inshore water of the Norfolk coast), the old Muckleburgh Collection and the clifftop North Norfolk Coastal Path.
The coastal footpath east to Cromer along the clifftops — passing through East Runton (family beach with rock pools and the tidal pools), through West Runton (site of the UK's largest mammoth fossil) to the Victorian pier and lighthouse town of Cromer.
