Natural portraits in the Surrey Hills, on the North Downs, and around Guildford's beautiful parks and countryside.
Guildford sits at the edge of the Surrey Hills AONB — one of the most beautiful stretches of countryside in the South East, with chalk downland, ancient yew forests, and long views across the Weald. It is exceptional portrait territory. The North Downs Way, which runs above the town, offers sweeping backgrounds; Newlands Corner at golden hour is among the finest portrait locations in the region.
Loseley Park, the Elizabethan manor south of the town, provides elegant formal gardens. Meanwhile the meadows along the River Wey in town provide a relaxed, accessible setting. I travel regularly to Guildford for individual portraits, couples, family sessions, and professional headshots.

The chalk downland of the Surrey Hills creates open, rolling landscapes where the light behaves differently to woodland or urban settings — it wraps around your subjects softly, especially at golden hour. Newlands Corner is a favourite for this quality. The yew forest at Newlands Corner and the beech hangers on the Downs add depth and variety to longer sessions.
Yes — the formal walled garden and the parkland at Loseley Park are available for portrait sessions, with prior permission. I can arrange this as part of booking an extended session. The white roses in June are particularly beautiful.
Yes — I cover all of Surrey including Godalming, Woking, Farnham, Dorking, Reigate, and the surrounding villages. Sessions can incorporate multiple locations within the county.
Guildford is within my regular travel circuit. Travel is included in the session price for most Surrey locations — I'll confirm exact details in your personalised quote.
