Natural portraits at Ferry Meadows, along the Nene Valley, and in Peterborough's beautiful green spaces.
Peterborough's greatest portrait assets are its remarkable Norman cathedral — whose west front is considered one of the finest in England — and the vast Ferry Meadows Country Park, which at 500 acres offers lakes, meadows, and woodland within five minutes of the city's ring road. The scale and variety here make it one of the best natural-light portrait venues in the region.
The Nene Valley Railway corridor, the floodplain meadows at Orton, and the open fen landscapes just outside the city all add variety across the seasons. Autumn colour in Nene Park and the bluebell woodland at Borough Fen are seasonal highlights that are worth planning sessions around.

Ferry Meadows is outstanding for families — the lakes, broad meadows, and woodland give children genuine space to run and be natural, which is exactly what relaxed family photography needs. Sessions can incorporate the lakeside, the wildflower meadows, and the woodland edge in a single visit. Autumn is especially beautiful here.
The Cathedral Close and the Cathedral Green are publicly accessible and provide magnificent Norman Gothic architectural backdrops. The West Front arcades are particularly impressive. I photograph here regularly for portraits, headshots, and milestone sessions.
I'm based in Cambridge — Peterborough is just 40 minutes away and very regularly in my schedule. Travel is included for Peterborough sessions.
Yes — Burghley House near Stamford is just 20 minutes from Peterborough and offers magnificent parkland, the famous Capability Brown grounds, and the house itself as backdrops. Timed entry or parking charges at Burghley are the client's responsibility.
