London Alternative Weddings
London is one of the world's great cities for alternative culture, and its wedding scene reflects that. East London in particular — Shoreditch, Hackney, Bethnal Green — has developed a dense ecosystem of alternative-friendly venues, from converted Victorian warehouses to underground music venues, each with a character entirely unlike conventional wedding spaces.
I travel to London regularly to photograph alternative weddings, and the city's diversity — of neighbourhoods, architecture, culture, and creative venues — makes it one of the most rewarding places to work. Whether you're getting married in an Islington pub, a Shoreditch warehouse, a Brixton rooftop, or one of the city's many unexpected and characterful spaces, I'll be there to document it with the same attention and care I bring to every wedding.
Shoreditch, Hackney, Bethnal Green — the warehouses and converted industrial spaces of East London are natural homes for alternative weddings, with exposed brick, raw concrete, and spectacular urban character.
Hampstead Heath, Highgate, Victoria Park — London's wild corners offer unexpected natural settings for alternative and boho couples who want greenery and space within the city.
The Thames riverside, Tate Modern, and the urban energy of the South Bank provide dramatic London backdrops with a distinctly contemporary edge.
London has hundreds of characterful pubs, bars, and social spaces that host weddings — from Victorian gin palaces to underground rock bars. Each has its own atmospheric quality.
From Highgate Cemetery to Brompton Oratory, from the Barbican to Islington's Town Hall — London's historic fabric offers extraordinary backdrops for alternative ceremonies and portraits.
Roof terraces, private members' clubs, galleries, studios, and spaces with particular personal meaning are all within scope — some of the best alternative London weddings happen in places that aren't on any venue list.

Yes — I travel to London regularly, and it's one of my most frequent wedding destinations. London's alternative and non-traditional wedding scene is particularly vibrant, and the city's diversity of venues and architectural character makes for exceptional photographs.
East London has an extraordinary concentration of alternative-friendly venues — converted warehouses in Shoreditch and Hackney, industrial spaces in Bermondsey, and the entire ecosystem of creative venues around the arts district. But equally great are underground music venues, historic pubs, galleries, and private spaces across the whole city.
Yes — pub weddings are one of my favourite types to photograph in London. They tend to be warm, genuine, full of personality, and completely devoid of the artificiality that sometimes creeps into more formal wedding settings. The atmospheric available light in a good London pub is beautiful.
Yes — if your getting ready, ceremony, and reception are in different parts of London, I travel between them. London logistics are always discussed in advance so we can plan timing sensibly.
