The wedding dress will be boxed. The flowers will be dried or composted. The cake is a memory. The venue will host someone else's wedding next weekend. The photographs are the only physical record of the day that will still be in active use in thirty years.
A digital gallery is useful. Prints are important. But a properly designed and printed wedding album is in a category of its own. It is the object you take off the shelf. The thing you sit with on anniversary evenings. The book your children will ask to look at. It is the permanent record of one of the most significant days of your life, and it deserves to be physically excellent.
A professional wedding album is not the same as a consumer photo book ordered from an online printing service. The difference is in the materials, the production, and the design. Professional wedding albums use thick flush-mount pages — each page is a solid board, printed and mounted, lying completely flat when open. The covers are genuine leather, linen, or fine fabric. The binding is hand-sewn. The print quality is archival — rated to last 100 years without fading under normal conditions.
A consumer photo book uses glossy or matte paper pages of standard printer weight, a machine-bound spine, and a printed cloth or cardboard cover. It is not the same object and does not last the same way.
Wedding album design typically begins after your final gallery is approved — usually three to four months after the wedding. The album design process involves reviewing your full gallery, selecting the images to include (typically 60 to 100 images for a 30- to 40-spread album), designing the spreads, and approving the layout before production.
Most couples receive their album eight to twelve weeks after approving the final design. This is not a fast product — it should not be. It will last a lifetime.
Wedding albums are available for all booked clients. Get in touch to discuss album options and include one in your package.
