The absence of formal structure means people actually talk to each other, actually eat, actually dance when they feel like it rather than when the DJ announces the first dance. The joy is less performed and more real.

My photography suits casual weddings particularly well because documentary is fundamentally casual — I observe and capture rather than direct and pose.
