Suffolk
Family Photography in Suffolk
Suffolk has a quality that's hard to pin down — a gentle, unhurried feeling that makes it one of the most relaxing counties in England to photograph in. From the wild shingle coast at Walberswick to the meadows around Framlingham Castle and the ancient oaks of Rendlesham Forest, it offers a remarkable variety of settings for natural family photography.
I'm based in nearby Cambridgeshire and know Suffolk well — both the popular National Trust spots and the quieter, less-visited locations that work particularly well for family sessions.
My approach is entirely natural — no formal posing, no stage-managed arrangements. I work with your family's energy and document the real moments: the running, the discovering, the togetherness.

Locations
National Trust burial site with sweeping River Deben views — rich in history and effortlessly photogenic.
Wild Suffolk coast at its most atmospheric — shingle, dunes, reed beds, and big East Anglian skies.
A perfectly preserved medieval castle with a lake and parkland below — timeless backdrops for family portraits.
The largest vegetated shingle spit in Europe — wild, remote, and unlike anywhere else in England.
Beautiful walled garden next to the cathedral ruins — colourful, peaceful, and central to the town.
A large forest park near Woodbridge with waymarked trails, open glades, and a UFO trail for the children.
Sutton Hoo and Walberswick are perennial favourites — both offer extraordinary variety within a short area. Framlingham Castle is wonderful for families who want a bit of history in the backdrop.
Yes — I cover all areas including Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds, Woodbridge, Aldeburgh, Southwold, Lowestoft, Newmarket, and rural Suffolk. Being based in Cambridgeshire, I'm ideally placed for Suffolk sessions.
Spring and early autumn are ideal for most inland locations. The Suffolk coast is wonderful year-round — summer sunsets at Walberswick are particularly beautiful, and autumn storm light on the shingle is extraordinary.
Entirely — I work at a completely child-led pace with no pressure to sit still or pose. The unpredictable moments with small children are often the most beautiful.
