Northernhay Gardens — the oldest surviving public park in England, set beside the ancient city walls — offers intimate Georgian parkland in the heart of the city. Killerton Estate, 20 minutes north, provides sweeping hillside gardens and beech woodland of a completely different scale. And beyond both, the open moors of Dartmoor await.
My approach is gentle and unhurried — I spend time finding the best light and helping you feel entirely comfortable before I begin shooting. Maternity sessions work beautifully at 28–34 weeks. Book from 20 weeks to secure your preferred date and season.

When is the best time for my Exeter maternity session?
Between 28–34 weeks is ideal. Devon's climate is mild, which means autumn and spring sessions are particularly beautiful. The grounds at Killerton are outstanding in late October when the beech trees turn. Book from 20 weeks to secure your date.
What makes Killerton Estate special?
Killerton is a 6,400-acre National Trust estate near Broadclyst. The hillside garden has vast mature trees, wildflower meadows, and views across the Exe Valley. In autumn the woods are breathtaking; in spring the blossom and bluebells are exceptional. It is one of my favourite Devon locations for extended maternity sessions.
Can we shoot on Dartmoor while I'm pregnant?
Yes — I recommend the lower moorland edges such as Haytor or Widecombe for pregnant clients. The paths are manageable and the open views and ancient granite create dramatic, unique backdrop. We avoid any challenging terrain and plan an easy walk to beautiful viewpoints.
Do you photograph across Devon?
Yes — I cover Exeter and the wider Devon area including Tiverton, Crediton, Honiton, Torbay, and Plymouth. Sessions across Devon are available and travel is included for locations within 30 miles of Exeter.
