In-home lifestyle newborn photography across Devon
The weeks following a birth are extraordinary and fleeting. Devon homes — whether a Victorian terrace in St Thomas or a Georgian townhouse in the cathedral quarter — carry a distinctive warmth and light that I find nowhere else. Wide sash windows, high ceilings, and the soft Atlantic quality of the Devon sky pour into rooms in a way that makes every frame feel effortlessly beautiful.
I photograph newborns in the natural environment of their own home: no studio, no props, no posing. Just the real moments — a sleeping face, tiny curled fingers, the absolute quiet of a baby at rest, a big sibling's first curious look. Across Devon — from Exeter to Tiverton, Crediton, Honiton, and Torbay — I travel to you so that you never have to leave your home in those tender early days.
In Your Own Home
No studio, no travel while you are exhausted. I come to you and photograph in the rooms and light you already know.
No Props or Posing
Nothing staged or forced. Real moments — feeding, naps, tiny hands, the quiet wonder of those first days.
Devon Light
Devon homes often have extraordinary natural light — wide sash windows and south-facing rooms flood with warm Atlantic brightness.

Best Timing
5–14 days old
The first 5–14 days of life give the most peaceful sessions — newborns sleep deeply and curl naturally. I recommend booking during pregnancy so a date can be reserved for shortly after your due date, then confirmed when baby arrives.
Relaxed and quiet. I arrive with a small bag, spend a few minutes getting a feel for your light and the spaces you love, and then we begin — slowly and gently. There is no rush and nothing needs to be tidied or staged. Your home exactly as it is on that day is exactly what we want to photograph.
Exeter's Victorian and Edwardian terraces — and the Georgian townhouses in parts of the city — typically have excellent north and east-facing light, tall ceilings, and large windows. Many of the market town homes across Devon similarly have wonderful quality of light. I work entirely with natural light and can adapt to any room.
Yes — siblings and family pets are absolutely part of the story. I always spend time with siblings at the start of the session so they feel comfortable, and some of the most precious images tend to be the moments when an older child meets the baby.
Yes — I photograph newborns throughout Devon including Tiverton, Crediton, Honiton, Torbay, Totnes, and Plymouth. Travel within Devon is included in the session fee.
