The National Trust's Basildon Park estate, just south of Pangbourne, gives the feel of a private English country house landscape without leaving Berkshire. Prospect Park in west Reading offers mature parkland and meadow just minutes from the town centre.

Questions
When is the best time for a Reading maternity session?
Between 28–34 weeks is ideal — the bump is beautifully present and movement is still comfortable across Berkshire's parks, river meadows, and countryside. Spring blossoms and autumn colour at Basildon Park are both particularly beautiful.
What makes Reading special for bump photography?
Reading has excellent variety within easy reach: Prospect Park's Regency parkland right in the town, Basildon Park National Trust estate with sweeping pastoral views over the Thames Valley, and the Pangbourne meadows on the riverside. The North Wessex Downs AONB begins just west of Reading, offering open chalk downland with long views — an unusual and striking setting for maternity photography.
Can we session along the Thames towpath?
Yes — the Thames between Reading and Pangbourne has beautiful meadow banks, willow-framed paths, and riverside views well-suited to natural maternity portraits, particularly in the long evening light of summer.
Do you travel from Cambridge to Reading?
