When is the best time for a maternity session in Swindon?

Between 28 and 34 weeks is ideal. The bump is prominent and you remain comfortable for outdoor walking. The Wiltshire chalk landscape is beautiful all year: the Ridgeway has extraordinary winter light when the vegetation is low; Lydiard Park and Savernake Forest are spectacular with spring blossom and autumn colour; Avebury in summer has the longest evenings for golden hour.

Can we photograph at Avebury for a maternity session?

Avebury is one of the world's great ancient monuments — a Neolithic stone circle and henge that you can walk through and among. The large sarsen stones set in open downland create a truly extraordinary backdrop for maternity portraits. Sessions here are unforgettable, particularly in the late afternoon or early morning light.

What makes Savernake Forest special for maternity photography?

Savernake Forest is an ancient royal forest with a network of grassy rides cut through enormous beech woodland. The Grand Avenue — a straight beech avenue over four miles long — creates a cathedral-like setting unlike anywhere else in Wiltshire. In autumn when the beeches turn gold, it is exceptional for maternity portraits.
