Worcester sits in the valley of the Severn between the Malvern Hills and the Vale of Evesham — a position that gives it access to some of the most extraordinary outdoor portrait settings in the Midlands. The Malvern Hills ridge rises ten miles to the west: a dramatic Pre-Cambrian outlier with open grassland walks, wildflower slopes, and views across six or seven counties. To the south, Croome Park — Capability Brown's first complete landscape garden — sweeps across the plain above the Severn. Between these, Bredon Hill, Spetchley Park, and the orchard-rich vale countryside complete an exceptional portfolio of outdoor settings.
Maternity sessions in Worcester work with whatever part of this landscape suits you — from a short riverside walk below the cathedral to a ridge-top shoot above Great Malvern. I photograph year-round, adapting to the seasonal character of each location.

Between 28 and 34 weeks is ideal — the bump is beautifully prominent without limiting your comfort on outdoor walks. The Malvern Hills are magnificent year-round: spring sees orchards in blossom in the Teme Valley and Vale of Evesham; summer gives long evening light on the ridge; autumn turns Croome Park and the Severn plain to deep gold. Winter sessions on the Malvern ridge with wide cold views are quietly spectacular.
Absolutely — the Malvern Hills are one of the finest maternity session settings in the Midlands. The open grassland ridge, the Worcester Beacon summit, and the lower slopes with long grass and wildflowers give an extraordinary range of settings within a short walk. We'd typically drive to one of the hill car parks and work the light from there.
Croome Park is Capability Brown's earliest complete landscape design — a vast rolling parkland with a serpentine lake, classical bridges, and the rotunda mound above the Severn flood plain. The scale and quality of the landscape is exceptional, and the National Trust parkland is freely walkable. It is one of Worcestershire's best maternity portrait locations.
I cover Worcester city and all of Worcestershire — Malvern, Great Malvern, Pershore, Evesham, Kidderminster, Droitwich, Redditch, Broadway, Tenbury Wells, and into the adjoining counties of Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, and South Birmingham. Travel within 25 miles of Worcester is included.
