Photographer St James's Park

St James's Park is the oldest and most ornamental of London's eight Royal Parks. Located in the heart of Westminster, surrounded by Buckingham Palace, St James's Palace, Horse Guards and the grand architecture of Whitehall, it offers a uniquely regal setting for portrait photography. The park's centrepiece lake, crossed by the Blue Bridge, offers one of the most famous views in London — the City skyline framed by weeping willows to the east, and Buckingham Palace framed by the ornamental lake to the west.

For portrait and family photography, St James's Park combines accessibility (it is central London's most accessible major park, a five-minute walk from Westminster Tube) with extraordinary photographic quality. The morning light from the east creates beautiful warm tones across the water. The avenue of London plane trees along The Mall is magnificent in autumn. The park's famous pelicans, resident since 1664, add a uniquely London character that children particularly love.
