Natural wedding, family and portrait photography on the Wirral Peninsula — outdoor sessions at West Kirby beach, Thurstaston Common, Port Sunlight and across the beautiful Dee Estuary coastline.
Book a SessionThe Wirral Peninsula — between the Rivers Mersey and Dee — is one of the north-west's most photogenic and landscape-diverse areas: a compact peninsula with the view of Liverpool's famous skyline from the Mersey shore, the beautiful Dee Estuary and salt marshes of the western shore, the extraordinary model village of Port Sunlight, NT-managed heathland at Thurstaston and the sandy beach and Marine Lake at West Kirby. The range of portrait settings available within the 15-mile length of the peninsula is remarkable — from iconic urban waterfront to open coastal salt marsh to Victorian heritage village.
The Wirral's western shore is particularly outstanding for portrait photography: the beach at West Kirby (with its views to the Welsh hills and the causeway to Hilbre Island at low tide), the extraordinary salt marsh panorama of Parkgate and the gorse-and-sandstone heathland of Thurstaston Common. I photograph families, couples, weddings and individuals across the Wirral and in Merseyside — Liverpool, Birkenhead, Bebington, Heswall and the surrounding area. I travel across the north-west for weddings and portrait sessions throughout the year.
Documentary wedding coverage for the Wirral — Thornton Hall Hotel and Spa (Thornton Hough), the extraordinary Port Sunlight village, Greens of Marlow (Thornton Hough), Prenton Golf Club, and the many beautiful Wirral and Cheshire estate venues.
Natural outdoor family sessions on Thurstaston Common above the Dee Estuary, on West Kirby beach and Marine Lake, at Royden Park woodland and along the atmospheric Parkgate promenade above the salt marshes.
Engagement sessions at West Kirby beach with views to the Welsh hills, on Thurstaston Hill common, at the extraordinary salt marsh panorama of Parkgate and on the tidal sands of the Dee Estuary.
Professional headshots for the Wirral's significant professional community — the financial and legal sector, the medical professionals at Arrowe Park and Clatterbridge hospitals and the wider Wirral and Merseyside business community.
Individual portrait sessions on the Wirral's extraordinary coastal settings — West Kirby beach and causeway to Hilbre Island, Thurstaston Common, the architecturally unique Port Sunlight village and the Dee Estuary shoreline.
In-home lifestyle newborn sessions in West Kirby, Heswall, Bebington, Bromborough, Birkenhead and across the Wirral Peninsula.
The beautiful west-facing sandy beach at West Kirby with its large Marine Lake — views across the Dee Estuary to the North Wales hills and (on foot at low tide) the causeway to Red Rocks nature reserve and the tiny Hilbre Islands.
The extensive NT-managed common on the Dee-side plateau — red sandstone outcrops emerging from heather and bracken, viewpoints over the whole of the Dee Estuary to Snowdonia and the characteristic Wirral countryside of gorse and sandy paths.
The extraordinary village of Parkgate on the Dee shore — once a port (Swift and Handel sailed from here), now fronting vast salt marshes instead of water. The promenade, the traditional ice cream parlours and the rare bird-watching reserve create a unique and photogenic setting.
The extraordinary model village built by the Lever brothers in the 1890s to house the workers of the Sunlight soap factory — 900 Grade II-listed buildings in 30 different architectural styles create a unique, perfectly preserved and highly photogenic planned village found nowhere else in England.
The beautiful wooded public park at Royden, south of West Kirby — mature mixed woodland, a hill viewpoint and the attractive country house setting create a varied family portrait location accessible from across the western Wirral.
