Portrait Photography
Derbyshire offers portrait photographers some of the most diverse and dramatic settings in England. Chatsworth Park — 1,000 acres of Capability Brown landscape surrounding the Duke of Devonshire's palatial house — is among the finest estate settings available anywhere in the country. Medieval Haddon Hall, crouching above the River Wye at Bakewell, presents a completely different character: more austere, more ancient. The limestone dales of Dovedale and Lathkill Dale give natural, intimate valley settings. Monsal Head, the Roaches, and Brimham Rocks add gritstone drama and open moorland.
I cover Derby, Chesterfield, Matlock, Buxton, Ashbourne, Bakewell, Belper, Glossop, and all of Derbyshire and the Peak District.

Locations
Chatsworth Park, Bakewell
England's finest Baroque estate — 1,000-acre Capability Brown parkland with Emperor Fountain and Cascade as portrait backdrops.
Haddon Hall, Bakewell
Arguably England's most romantic medieval manor — rooftop terraced gardens, mullioned windows, and ancient stone walls above the River Wye.
Dovedale, Ashbourne
Limestone stepping stones, reef knoll pillars, and willow-lined river meadows in the most classic of Peak District dales.
Monsal Head & Viaduct, Bakewell
Iconic Monsal Head viewpoint with railway viaduct across the River Wye below — dramatic in all seasons.
Bakewell & Wye Valley
Ancient market town beside the Wye — bridge, weir, and riverside walks with Peak District village character.
Lathkill Dale, Monyash
National Nature Reserve limestone dale — wild garlic in spring, crystal-clear stream, total seclusion.
Yes — I cover Derby, Chesterfield, Matlock, Buxton, Ashbourne, Bakewell, Belper, Glossop, and all Peak District villages and dales.
Chatsworth Park is freely accessible year-round. The formal gardens require an estate ticket. I can advise on the best areas for your session.
Each has its own beauty — spring bluebells at Lathkill Dale, summer green at Chatsworth, autumn gold on the moors, and winter frost at Haddon Hall. The Peak District is photogenic in every season.
Yes — the Full and Extended packages include two or more locations. Chatsworth and Haddon Hall, or Chatsworth and Monsal Head, make excellent combined sessions.
