Relaxed, natural engagement sessions across London — beautiful portraits in the city you love, before the wedding day arrives
London Engagement Photography
London is one of the most photographically rich cities in the world — an endless variety of settings from ancient parkland to industrial architecture, from grand riverside vistas to intimate cobbled streets. A pre-wedding shoot here captures not just a couple, but a place that is part of their story.
I know London well and work across the city regularly. Whether you want the classic Hyde Park grandeur, the wild atmospherics of Hampstead Heath, or something altogether more unexpected, I will help you plan a session in the setting that suits you best.
My style is warm and documentary — I lead sessions gently, giving you enough direction to feel comfortable and enough freedom to be genuinely yourselves. The results feel natural because they are.
London Locations
From iconic parks to hidden corners — the best London backdrops for engagement and pre-wedding sessions.
The classic London backdrop — the Serpentine, the long tree-lined avenues, the Italian Gardens. Hyde Park offers an extraordinary variety of settings within a single location, from open lawns to intimate woodland paths, and is beautiful in every season.
The most atmospheric park in London — ancient woodland, wild meadows, and the famous Parliament Hill viewpoint with its panoramic view across the city. Hampstead Heath feels far from the urban noise and produces some of the most naturalistic engagement photographs in London.
The bookshops under Waterloo Bridge, the Golden Jubilee Bridges, the view of St Paul's across the Thames — South Bank has an energy and an urban poetry that makes for vibrant, contemporary couple portraits unlike anywhere else in the city.
The hilltop view over London from Primrose Hill is one of the city's great vistas, and the park itself is quieter and more personal than the Royal Parks. The surrounding streets of Primrose Hill village add a charming, pastel-coloured alternative backdrop.
The formal avenues of Greenwich Park, the view of Canary Wharf from the Observatory, the Queen's House below — Greenwich offers a layer of history and grandeur that few London parks match. Particularly beautiful at golden hour when the light falls across the hill.
The newly opened Battersea Power Station and its surrounding riverside development offer a striking, contemporary backdrop for couples who want something industrial, architectural, and distinctly modern. The golden chimneys and brick facades photograph beautifully.

Questions
A pre-wedding shoot does three important things: it gives you a set of beautiful, relaxed photographs before the wedding day; it lets you experience what it is actually like to be photographed by me before the most important day of your life; and it gives us both a chance to build the comfort and trust that will show in your wedding photographs. Couples who have had a pre-wedding shoot are visibly more relaxed in front of the camera on their wedding day.
It depends entirely on who you are as a couple. Hyde Park is versatile and always beautiful. Hampstead Heath is atmospheric and romantic. South Bank is urban and vibrant. If you live in London and have a neighbourhood you love, that is often the best choice of all — photographs in a place that is genuinely yours have a quality no famous landmark can replicate. I am happy to discuss options and make a recommendation based on your style and the season.
Golden hour — the final hour before sunset — produces the warmest, most beautiful natural light. In summer this means early evening sessions; in autumn and winter the golden hour arrives earlier. I always plan session timing around the light, and I will recommend a start time based on the time of year and your chosen location.
Yes — I photograph regularly in London and include London travel in all pre-wedding session packages. Cambridge to London is a straightforward journey and I build the travel time into my scheduling. There is no additional travel fee for London sessions.
Wear something you feel genuinely comfortable and confident in. Coordinating colours rather than matching outfits tend to photograph beautifully — a palette of two or three complementary tones works well. I send all booked clients a full styling guide covering colour, pattern, footwear, and practical considerations for outdoor shoots.
Absolutely — and this is one of the most popular uses for pre-wedding shoot photographs. The images are yours with full print licence, and they work beautifully for save the dates, order of service covers, table numbers, and wedding websites. I deliver the gallery in time for stationery ordering if you book with sufficient lead time.
