Cambridge · LGBTQ+ Wedding Photography
Experienced, affirming LGBTQ+ wedding photography — two brides, two grooms or non-binary couples. Your love story, told with craft, joy and complete respect.
Why Us
There is a difference between a wedding photographer who will photograph same sex weddings and one who genuinely celebrates them. I am the second kind. LGBTQ+ couples deserve a photographer who brings expertise, enthusiasm and a genuine understanding of the specific elements that make your wedding unique — not one who is merely willing to turn up.
I am based in Cambridge and photograph same sex weddings across Cambridgeshire, East Anglia, London and across the UK. Every same sex wedding I photograph is treated with the same attention, craft and preparation as any other — because your wedding is not a niche. It is a wedding.
I am an enthusiastic and experienced LGBTQ+ wedding photographer, not merely an 'open to all' one. Your wedding will be photographed with the same joy, expertise and creativity I bring to every wedding — without any assumption, awkwardness, or misgendering. I will ask about your preferences and pronouns before the wedding, and I will get them right.
I have photographed two-bride weddings, two-groom weddings, and weddings for non-binary couples. I understand the specific dynamics — two preparation suites, the decision about who walks when, the particular joy and visibility that LGBTQ+ weddings carry. I bring this experience, not a learning curve.
Many wedding day timelines are written around assumed gender roles. I work from scratch with every couple to understand their specific day — who accompanies whom, what the moments are that matter most, what your first look looks like. Same sex weddings are often gloriously free from convention, and I love photographing the creativity this produces.
Cambridge has a proud LGBTQ+ history and a vibrant, affirming community. The city's colleges, gardens and independent venues are increasingly popular choices for same sex weddings, and I know them intimately as photographic locations. Whatever venue you have chosen, I know the light, the angles, and the moments that make it extraordinary.

Questions
This is one of the key logistics questions for same sex weddings, and I plan for it carefully. Depending on the length of time allocated to preparations and the distance between suites, there are two approaches: I cover one suite myself and recommend a second photographer to cover the other simultaneously; or I plan a careful schedule that allows me to move between suites, capturing the key moments at each. I discuss this with every same sex couple at the planning stage to find the right solution for their day.
Yes — I will ask about your preferred pronouns before the wedding (and before any previous meetings), use them consistently, and model the correct usage to any assistants or second photographers working with me. I understand that incorrect pronouns on your wedding day are not a minor matter. You should not have to correct your photographer.
Completely. If your venue is decked with rainbow flags, if your guests are glorious, if your wedding is as visible and celebratory as you want it to be — I photograph all of it with the same enthusiasm. I love the exuberance of LGBTQ+ weddings and I am not neutral about it.
Yes — humanist and civil ceremonies are among the most personal and moving ceremonies I photograph, and same sex couples have often had humanist ceremonies for longer than straight couples have. Humanist ceremonies typically involve personal vows, readings chosen by the couple, and a deeply personal structure. I find them among the most emotionally rich ceremonies to photograph.
Yes — several Cambridge colleges are licensed for civil marriages and civil partnerships. King's College Chapel, Trinity College, and several other colleges offer extraordinary settings. Same sex couples are as welcome as any other couple at licensed venues. I know these venues well and can advise on the best photographic approach for whichever college you choose.
Yes — I work with a trusted network of Cambridge-based photographers and can arrange a professional second shooter for your wedding. Second photography coverage is charged at £350 for up to 6 hours. I will only recommend photographers whose work I know personally and who share my affirming approach.
