Family Photographer Plymouth

Golden hour — the hour before sunset — gives the most beautiful warm light at Plymouth Hoe, Mount Edgcumbe, and Wembury Beach. For young children who go to bed early, mid-morning (9–11am) in spring and autumn gives clean, cool light and is usually uncrowded at Dartmoor and Saltram. I always advise on timing when we confirm your session.

Absolutely. Burrator Reservoir in the national park is only about 12 miles from Plymouth and is one of my favourite family session locations — ancient woodland, open moor, a beautiful reservoir, and dramatic granite landscapes that children love to explore. If you have active children, Dartmoor is usually the perfect choice.

There is no limit. I regularly photograph three-generation family gatherings, large extended families, and groups with many children. The session flows as a guided walk rather than a formal shoot, which makes larger groups much more relaxed and natural.

I cover Plymouth and the surrounding South West: Saltash, Tavistock, Ivybridge, Totnes, Kingsbridge, South Hams coast, Dartmouth, and locations across Dartmoor. Travel within 25 miles of Plymouth is included in the fee.
