Hull sits between the Humber estuary and the gentle landscape of the East Yorkshire Wolds — a setting that gives maternity photography a quality of open light rarely found in larger cities. Pearson Park, Hull's original Victorian People's Park, combines lake reflections and mature specimen trees in a setting that has changed little since the 1860s. North of the city, Beverley Westwood's open common pasture frames the medieval minster against the Wolds — one of the most English of English views.
I photograph naturally and without direction, allowing the session to unfold within each landscape. These are the final weeks of a particular time in your lives — the images should feel joyful, real, and entirely of this place.

The ideal time is 28–34 weeks of pregnancy. For outdoor sessions in Hull and East Yorkshire, late spring (May–June) and early autumn (August–September) give the finest light — warm without the harsh midday sun. Beverley Westwood is particularly beautiful in May when the hawthorn blossom is out across the common.
Pearson Park in west Hull is the most varied city park — the original Victorian lake, mature specimen trees, and the old conservatory area give a range of settings within a small area. For something more open, Beverley Westwood gives wide Wolds views and the medieval minster on the horizon. The Humber Bridge Country Park at Hessle offers chalk cliffs and estuary views entirely different from anything else in the area.
Yes — I cover Hull, Beverley, Cottingham, Brough, Goole, and the whole of the East Riding. Travel within 25 miles of Hull city centre is included in session fees.
Yes — I include partner portraits in every session. Some of my most requested maternity images are the couple together, and I always create time for these naturally during the session.
